TLJT had a strong showing of athletes at the 148th New Year Sprint events. The preliminaries were held at Meadowmill track on Friday 30th December 2016. A large turnout of supporters were rewarded with a fine afternoon of athletics at Tweedbank Sports Complex when the club held their annual Championship event. Sunday 4th September YDL Bedford

Three of our athletes traveled to Bedford this weekend to compete for their other club in the UK Final of the Youth Development League. Emily Dagg took bronze in the 100m, while Jazmine Tomlinson won bronze in the 200m.  Laura Munro won silver in the 100m and bronze in the 200m. Great to see our athletes doing so well in these highly competitive league events.

A number of our athletes made the trip to Dunfermline to compete at the 2016 Pitreavie Young Athletes’ Trophy Meeting. Christie Rout won her U15 Girls 200m Heat and was 4th in the final. On Saturday 27th August it was Birnam Highland Games and if you were not present and only viewed the photos, you would be forgiven for thinking that Lee Goodfellow came back with a knighthood! A trip up North to Perth was worth the journey for two of our senior athletes this weekend. Both Lee Goodfellow and Greg Turnbull came back winners from Perth Highland Games on Sunday.
